Global Chip Shortage Eases as New Fabs Come Online
The global semiconductor shortage that plagued industries from automotive to consumer electronics for three years is finally easing as major new fabrication plants begin production across Asia, Europe, and the United States.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company reported record-breaking output from its Arizona facility, while Samsung new Texas plant reached full capacity last month.
Auto manufacturers are now rebuilding inventory. Ford, GM, and Toyota have all announced plans to ramp up vehicle production significantly in the coming quarters.
